The White Crow

Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 7:30 PM - English

In 1961, a dazzling Rudolf Nureyev (Oleg Ivenko) arrives in Paris and makes a choice that changes his life forever. Not yet the imperious figure of legend, he’s a member of the world-renowned Kirov Ballet, traveling for the first time outside the Soviet Union. Director Ralph Fiennes, working from a screenplay by award-winning playwright David Hare, has shaped a superb film. Ivenko delicately conveys the pansexual intensity of Nureyev’s dance style and unpredictable mixture of fragility, generosity and grandiosity. From his poverty-stricken childhood in Ufa, to his blossoming as a student dancer in Leningrad, to his arrival at the epicenter of western culture and a nail-biting stand-off at Le Bourget airport, The White Crow is the true story of an incredible journey by a unique artist who transformed the world of ballet forever.

With Diana Garle, Leah Sessa, Karen Stephens, Tom Wahl directed by Joseph Adler.

A scathingly funny new play about money, politics and the state of the American republic! Kate is a whip-smart lobbyist who doesn’t waste her time on anyone who can’t get elected and get her clients what they want. When she represents a political neophyte with staunch ideals, she is faced with a choice that might change everything for her: back the system, or back what she believes in? By the author of DRY POWDER. “A tautly intelligent drama! Gives you a short, useful course on the fuel Washington runs on! It adds to a vital public discourse about the kind of government we have vs the kind we want!” - Washington Post.

Doubt

Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 8:00 PM - English

Winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and Tony Award for “Best Play,” all elements come invigoratingly together like clockwork in John Patrick Shanley’s provocative play Doubt, a gripping story of suspicion cast on a priest’s behavior that is less about scandal than about fascinatingly nuanced questions of moral certainty. Doubt is blunt yet subtle, manipulative but full of empathy for all sides, and a powerful drama that represents the eloquent and provocative investigation of truth and consequences
