The Miami Lyric Opera presents The Barber of Seville by Gioacchino Rossini with the libretto of Cesare Sterbini at the Olympia Theatre at the Gusman Center on August 18 and 19 at 8 pm. Miami Art Museum is showing the documentary film Lagos/Koolhaas Saturday August 18. “This hypnotic documentary explores the complex city of Lagos through the observations of award-winning architect and urban theorist Rem Koolhaas and the residents themselves. WDNA Serious Jazz brings its Jazz Encounters to the Jazz Gallery Friday August 17 at 8 pm. Tango hits the stage at the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center Friday, August 17 at 9 p.m. Tango Lovers (Enamorados del Tango): Tango, Passion and Sensuality. Performed to music by Gerardo Matos Rodriguez, Angel Villoldo and Astor Piazzola, among others, the evening features Mora Godo and an ensemble comprised of multiple Grammy award winning musicians and world tango champions.
