Cool Nights, Hot Jazz at the Bass

The Bass Museum was packed once again as they presented the Fernando Ullibarri Quartet on Friday, March 4th. This was one of their Cool Nights, Hot Jazz series. The Quartet consisted of Jim Gasior on keyboard, Fernando Ullibarri on accoustic guitar, Jim Allen on bass and John Yarling on drums. Much of the music we heard that evening was composed by Fernando. The next band in the series, the Rudolfo Zuniga Quintet will perform on March 19th. I want to hip you to the fact that he is HOT. Shelly Berg with special guest Ed Calle will play April 2nd and the series winds up on April 16th with the Negroni Trio. Reserve early at the Bass Museum of Art, 2121 Park Ave., Miami Beach. 305.673.7530 – www.bassmuseum.org.
