It's Getting Hot On The Beach
You'd better bring extra ice when you come to Miami Beach's fireworks display this July Fourth. Things will be hotter than you expected, because the City of Miami Beach, The Coca Cola Company and KCC Productions are hooking up to bring you “Coca-Cola Presents Fire on the Fourth Brought to You by Miami Beach and Classical South Florida.”
This is the first year of a ten year deal with Coke to be the presenting sponsor of the Beach's Independence Day Celebration.
Fire on the Fourth festivities will begin at noon at 8th Street and Ocean Drive.
There will be live performances, including from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, the Fred Thomas Septet, produced by KCC Productions and the City.
Bassist Fred Thomas is best known for his work, since 1971, with James Brown's “The New JBs”, and became one of the most sampled bass players in R&B history.
The fireworks are at 9:00 pm and the event is free.
