Dear Readers:
We are very excited that we are entering our second year
of MiamiARTzine.com. What started out as a need by the
Miami Beach Arts Trust to have a publication promoting
the arts has proven to be a big success. Our readers
love us! Our mission to cover under-reported art
stories, take on a different twist to a well-known arts
organizations have kept our readers coming back for more.
We have given aspiring writers and photographers an
opportunity to engage in their passion, add to their
resumes and get published. When we go to gallery
openings and play openings, we are embraced with open
arms. And, of course, we make any photos we have taken
to the arts organization for remembrance and promotional
purposes.
On November 16, we’re going to celebrate. We are having
a fundraiser so we can raise much-needed funds to
continue our successful e-zine. The garden party will
be at a private home and hors d'oeuvres and cocktails
will be served. There’ll be birthday cake too. (See
Invite)
We have big plans for the future. While we want to
continue what we’re doing, we want to get more people
involved, more readers. We will strive to continue our
informative and entertaining content.
This could not happen without the hard work of Miami
Beach Arts Trust Board. They have been enthusiastic
about MiamiARTzine.com and have offered creative ideas
and support.
The MiamiARTzine.com staff has stepped up to the plate
to actually make it happen. Mary Damiano, our editor,
knew exactly what to do to make this a success. Robert
Figueroa started out as our photo editor but his
commitment to the e-zine landed him the webmaster job.
We owe a lot to Robert. Our newcomer, Henry Perez, has
become our star photographer. He is getting a
reputation around town as the one behind the camera for
MiamiARTzine.com. Again, thank you all for all your
great work.
And of course, thanks to you, our readers. You make
everything we do worthwhile. We are always open to your
ideas and suggestions because we are here for you.
Sincerely,
Harvey J. Burstein
