A TRIO OF DANCE-FOCUSED LALA ARTISTS REVEAL NEW WORKS ABOUT CHILDBIRTH, ARTIST-AUDIENCE INTERACTION AND GLAMOUR, RESPECTIVELY.
Ana Mendez’s Laborers is the performance of a wordless play that embodies the chaotic state of childbirth and motherhood, featuring live on-stage scoring and a surreal look behind the theater curtains, which serve as the figurative veils of realities.
A new work by choreographer Adele Myers, The Stage Show employs robust physicality, personal theatricality and a sense of humor to navigate the mercurial chemistry between performers and their audience. Created specifically for an intimate theater in-the-round, Myers’ signature style of unpredictable, audience-friendly interaction will have viewers teetering on the edge of their seats.
Cosquillas is a cabaret show by Rosie Herrera that incorporates dance, film, live music and burlesque to explore the unique glamour and humor of the Caribbean.
