While the LGBTQ community has achieved significant gains in the civil rights arena, the transgender community has been at the forefront of discriminatory legislation. At school, work, employment, and the military, the transgender community is bearing the brunt of others' fears and prejudice. As the nation's leading anti-hate organization, ADL is bringing community partners organizations together for the community to better understand what it means to be transgender today in America.
The transgender community is in need of allies. With greater understanding and empathy, we can be those allies who will be able to push back against bigotry and ensure that transgender people are seen and treated as all others, with equal protection and dignity.
The panel will feature: Gina Duncan, Director of Transgender Equality, Equality Florida; Jeanette Jennings, Founder, TransKids Purple Rainbow Foundation, and featured on the TLC docu-series, 'I Am Jazz'; Eli Sage Rosenberg, Jewish, Biracial, Gender Non-conforming, Mental Health Advocate, Drag King; Sarah McBride, National Press Secretary, Human Rights Campaign, Author, Tomorrow Will Be Different: Love, Loss, and the Fight for Trans Equality; Dana Delgardo, Man of Trans Experience, Trans Advocate, Veteran in the Air Force, Family Nurse Practitioner with a focus on Trans Health.
