FIU Violist Michael Klotz and Pianist Gregorios Zamparas perform Brahm

For the last concert in the celebrated 2018-2019 Vivid Viola Series, which was conceived and managed by FIU Senior Instructor in viola Michael Klotz, celebrated pianist Gregorios Zamparas will join Professor Klotz for a performance of sonatas, intermezzi and Hungarian Dances by Brahms that celebrate the two instruments.

Free and open to the public.

Sagamore Hotel, the independently owned historic boutique hotel, known as "The Art Hotel," will breathe new life into its "Music is Life' exhibition showcasing a wide ensemble of artworks by well-known and emerging, international and local artists that span all media. In a remake aptly named "Remix," the exhibition, which has been inspired and is dedicated to music will be on view 24/7 from September 18, 2019 through November 30, 2019.

Featuring over 100 artworks from all mediums, including sculpture, photography, painting, and mixed media from artists from around the world, each piece on display in the rejuvenated exhibition embodies the significant impact the music industry has on society, culture, and history. "Remix" aims to redefine how music is preserved in the fine art world with inspirational works that emphasize the true beauty and artistry of the industry not always beholden to the eye.

Contemporary Visions of the Industrial

The Frank presents New Industry: Contemporary Visions of the Industrial, an exhibition focused on industrial aesthetic, blurring the lines between fine art, mechanical design and fabrication while also challenging traditional artmaking materials and techniques.

The new exhibition will feature the work of five South Florida artists: Nestor Arenas, Yves Gabriel, Kx2, Devora Perez and Norman Silva.

Reception guests will enjoy a performance by top Miami rap artist and Pembroke Pines native, Sam Stan. The Third Space Gallery will feature an exhibition of artwork by the students of Fletcher Art & Cultural Center. This event is free and open to the public. Complimentary refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Stonewall

The exhibition opening of Art after Stonewall, 1969 - 1989., coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots of 1969, features more than 200 works of art and related visual materials that explore the profound impact of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBTQ) liberation movement on visual culture.

The exhibition opened on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum.

The show continues through Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020.
