Kentucky Derby Party

Put on your Derby best for a fun-filled celebration of Kentucky Derby Saturday, May 2nd at Savor Cinema. FLIFF (Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival) and Steve Savor host a fun-filled Derby day with live entertainment by live Live Music, BBQ buffet and open bar with mint juleps, of course.

The race will be projected on the theater's 30-foot, high definition screen, prizes will be awarded for the most creative Derby hats, bonnets and outfits, and there is also a 50/50 raffle where guests can pick the horses they think will win, place or show.

Doors open at 4pm at Savor Cinema, 503 SE 6th Street in Fort Lauderdale, with free parking in the courthouse garage on SE 5th Avenue, adjacent to the theater.

For one unforgettable night, the South Florida Pride Concert Band celebrates 40 years of music, community, and pride in a spectacular anniversary performance, presented by the Bears of South Florida.

For one unforgettable night, the South Florida Pride Concert Band celebrates 40 years of music, community, and pride in a spectacular anniversary performance, presented by the Bears of South Florida. Joined by special guest performers, the band will take audiences on a journey through four decades of unforgettable moments from the past.

Expect thrilling surprises throughout the evening, including appearances by founding band members, a performance by the FLoatarama High School Soloist Competition winner, and special performances by the South Florida Pride Jazz Band and Steel Band. The night will also mark a historic milestone as Dan Bassett, the band's Artistic Director for 20 years, ceremoniously passes the baton to incoming director, Sara Cowley.

SmallStage Theatre Co. is proud to present it's 3rd show, Little Women! This adaptation, starring Rebecca Gonzalez, Kayla Gallagher, Emily Nunez, Iridia Antelo, Steven Martinez, and Ashley Gomez is delightful and thought provoking in every way exploring how the March sisters grow together and apart as life challenges them as artists and women. With founder Elai Avidan and direction from Keyla Zaltzberg, including help from apprentices Juliette Laniado, Anna Sekhnenko, Elina Kameiko, Daniel Res, Daniel R, Abigail P, Isabella S and more. Three shows in April and May ensure this production blooms into spring and your hearts!

MOAD Tours with Isabela Villanueva

Join Isabela Villanueva, MOAD's Consulting Curator, for a very special one-hour tour providing behind-the-scenes information and insight into works included in the Freedom Tower's exhibitions.

Isabela Villanueva is a Venezuelan-born art historian and curator currently based in Miami, specializing in Modern and Contemporary Latin American Art. As the Consulting Curator at the Museum of Art and Design at Miami Dade College (MOAD), she recently led the MOAD Pavilion series, showcasing installations by artists GeoVanna Gonzalez, Germane Barnes, and Rafael Domenech. Previously, she was part of the curatorial team for the 30th Sao Paulo Biennial and served as Assistant Curator at the Americas Society Art Gallery in New York. Villanueva hold graduate degrees from the University of Cambridge and the University of Glasgow.

Romina (Romi) began practicing yoga back in 2017, the physical aspect of yoga served as a launch pad and she quickly fell in love with the practice and aimed to explore many different types of yoga. A practice that was a hobby quickly turned into a passion. Her love of yoga pushed Romina to pursue her 200-hr yoga teacher training in Orlando, FL and she now teaches in many different areas in Miami. Romina enjoys teaching vinyasa flow and gentle flows with creative transitions, focusing on strengths, stability and alignment.

Whether you are a beginner or advance practitioner, using movement and breathwork, rest assure you'll leave feeling transformed in all aspects of the mind, body, and spirit.

Admission to the Freedom Tower exhibitions and galleries following the class is included with your RSVP.

ArtServe's I'm Still Here: Exploring Mental Wellness Exhibit
