Gears, a new hard rock band from Miami, is the epitome of the saying, “the show must go on." On June 3, a semi tractor-trailer totaled their tour van. Luckily, the members all walked away with only bruises.

Most of their personal belongings along with their rented trailer were damaged in the crash, but the members of Gears worked hard to ensure that wouldn’t have to disappoint their fans by canceling any of their planned shows. They came up with a solution in the form of show guarantees and money earned from merchandise sales.

A Fundraiser has also been set up through GoFundMe to assist with expenses incurred from the crash. Contributors to this fundraiser may be rewarded with anything from a signed CD/t-shirt/hoodie package to a signed drumhead to a lifetime all access pass/private show. So far $2,430 of their $7,500 goal has been raised.

Gears’ members are recognizable as they came together from a multitude of notable local projects: Endo (Eli Parker), Urban Rebel (Trip Six), Scarlet Carson (Tom Herres) and Skinmask (Jimmy Wooten). They self-released an EP, "Set In Motion", produced by Corey Lowery (Eye Empire, Sevendust, Dark New Day, Stereomud) earlier this year.

Gears’ tour ended successfully on June 15 with the band being added to booking agency M7’s roster. A second tour with modern rock band and M7 client, I-Exist, has also been planned from July 15 to August 18.
