Celebrating its one-year anniversary, Salty Flame on Brickell Avenue blends steakhouse tradition with Asian flair, making it a must-try during Miami Spice with its creative spin on the steakhouse concept.
For Miami Spice, the restaurant offers a $60 dinner menu that highlights its Asian-influenced flavors while maintaining a grillhouse flair.
We chose, for the first course, shrimp and pork dumpling. The dressing was a chile crisp oil and orange tobiko making it delicate while at the same time bold.
The coconut ceviche was a delightful mix of tuna, salmon, and Hamachi, which the menu said was dressed with leche de tigre with peach and Sichuan oil, which gave it a tropical punch.
The portions for the openings were on the smallish side, but that could have been because of the Miami Spice servings.
The second course came in heftier. A sweet and sour striped bass was fried tempura-style with pineapple and micro cilantro. Crab fried rice is easily a signature dish for Salty Flame. We shared this as it was a hearty serving.

Desserts were to die for. The bread pudding was warm and nutty with Marcona almonds, while the towering six-layer chocolate cake, which was decorated with gold flakes, was a dramatic finale.
Vanessa was cordial at the front of house, general manager Michael was congenial and our server Kamila added personal touches.
