JazzAid Live at the Banyan Bowl

Jon Secada, 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 17

Pinecrest Gardens hosts "Jazz Aid Live at the Banyan Bowl." International superstar Jon Secada kicks off the eight-show series with a live performance and proceeds go to World Central Kitchen to help those in need of food.

Due to the pandemic, JazzAid is by livestream only. See the full schedule.

New World Symphony Goes to the Movies

AXS Art, the arts and culture branch of AXS Law Group in Miami, is supporting and promoting the local Miami arts community through their series of free online art classes with artists Jean Blackwell Font and Ignacio Font of Warehouse 4726, held every Wednesday at 6 p.m., where they will introduce the community to different forms of art and styles inspired by global artists.

Art Serve

#Trending Tuesdays: ArtServe’s monthly event moves online, featuring 20- to 30-minute performances and artist-led discussions of emerging, experimental or repertory work. Guests can discuss creativity with artists who are combining their work with social impact. Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m.

Art & Chat/Paint & Chat: These chat session feature an interview and/or demonstration with an artist who will demonstrate and discuss their techniques. Artists include Lizzy Taber, Erin Bassett, Michelle Rose Domb and Darius Daughtry.

Other programs include Performer Spotlights, panel discussions and forums. Also, there are plans to continue these virtual programs after the COVID-19 pandemic.

World-renowned marine artist, conservationist and scientist Dr. Guy Harvey is helping families stay engaged, entertained and educated while they spend time at home during COVID-19 with 2 initiatives, at no cost, 25 fun and fascinating educational videos at that give an up close and personal look at the white shark, white marlin, shortfin mako shark, barracuda, oceanic whitetop shark, grouper, stingray and great hammerhead shark, among others.

The Outdoor Theaters at Hard Rock

The Outdoor Theaters at Hard Rock Statdium will feature both an open-air and drive up theate. Gates open at 6 p.m. and showtimes begin at 7:15 pm. 

Proceeds go to the Miami Dolphins Foundation Food relief program.

Savor Cinema and Cinema Paradiso 

Cinema Paradiso (2008 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood) at 1 p.m. 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., and at Savor Cinema  (503 SE 6 Street, Fort Lauderdale) at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

New City Players

The South Florida Theatre League Relief Fund was created in March 2020 to help theatres compensate workers they had to lay off during the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund was created to be a standing fund to help the South Florida Theatre Community through this time and any future crises. Donations to this fund are tax deductible and help the community when it is in need.

The Adrienne Arsht Center goes virtual with the launch of Arsht@Home, a new at-home online program which celebrates the arts with free educational and entertaining content to inspire creativity while keeping the community connected and active. Arts lovers from South Florida and beyond can access Arsht@Home content directly on the Center’s website at and via its social media channels (@arshtcenter).



Arsht Center’s HR professionals are providing virtual job interview and resume prep sessions at no cost. The nonprofit’s virtual program, called Arsht@Work, offers job hunters of all professional backgrounds and from anywhere across the country with a complimentary 30-minute, one-on-one live resume and interview workshop with the Center’s HR team including Trish Brennan, VP of HR, and Kimba King, director of HR.

The Arsht Center is pleased to announce a preorder and pickup option at Market Mondays virtual farmers market. You can still purchase your weekly haul from Urban Oasis Project and other local favorites. Consider donating a box of groceries to one person or a family while you shop. Donation options are under the Veggies category in the online store. Initial orders close at 9 p.m. every Thursday. The online store will reopen with limited inventory on Friday at 9 p.m. until Sunday at 9 p.m.
