The ceremony will feature remarks from notable speakers including Ivan Wilzig, Commissioner Laura Dominguez, and former Commissioner and lead sponsor of the Renaming Resolution Kristen Rosen Gonzalez, who will join community members, cultural leaders, and supporters in recognizing Naomi Wilzig’s enduring contributions. Helmut Schuster, renowned Curator and Director of the Museum will also be present and will lead a special guided tour of the Museum at the ceremony’s close.
This special event celebrates the life and impact of Naomi Wilzig, a passionate advocate for women’s rights and a pioneering cultural figure whose work helped shape Miami Beach’s artistic identity. As the founder of the World Erotic Art Museum (WEAM), Wilzig established a globally recognized institution dedicated to preserving and elevating erotic art as a significant artistic genre.

The City of Miami Beach will commemorate a historic cultural milestone with the official dedication and renaming of 12th Street as Naomi Wilzig Way, honoring the legacy of World Erotic Art Museum (WEAM) founder Naomi Wilzig.
The public is invited to attend this complimentary celebration on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Miami Beach, Florida. (WEAM – Corner of 12th & Washington)
