It was standing room only when photographer Gary Monroe gave a talk on his South Beach, 1977-1986 photography series at the Patricia & Philip Frost Art Museum at FIU in Miami. He also showed examples from the subsequent decades he has spent traveling the world - along with closer to home at Disney World -- taking his signature black-and-white photographs. Known for his photographs of the aging Jewish community in South Beach, Monroe also has traveled to Haiti, Russia, Cuba, India, and Trinidad, among others. The exhibit runs through Dec. 8.
