Photographer:

Powerhouse opera couple tenor Stuart Neill and soprano Sandra Lopez met when they were performing together. He was Rodolfo and she was Mimi in the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra's "La Boheme" in 2007.

This Saturday, The Opera Atelier presents "Love Vistas: Opera and Song in the Gables" Saturday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. at the Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables.

The pair now live in Miami. López graduated from Palmetto Senior High School and the University of Miami's Frost School of Music, where she made her professional debut at the Palm Beach Opera in the leading role of Adele in "Die Fledermaus" while still a student at UM. This season she debuted the role of Elle in Poulenc’s "La voix humaine" with The Opera Atelier at the Miracle Theater in Coral Gables.  In March 2022 she reprised the role of Florencia in the Spanish premiere of the opera Florencia en el Amazonas with Opera de Tenerife, which she had previously sung with Florida Grand Opera.

In 2021 she appeared as Cio-Cio San in "Madama Butterfly" with Florida Grand Opera and debuted as Lady Macbeth with Opera North.

Neill made his debut at The Metropolitan Opera as Arturo in "I Puritani"; at Teatro alla Scala as Edgardo in "Lucia"; at Opera de Paris/Bastille and The Salzburg Festival as Der Singer in "Der Rosenkavalier," at Vienna Staatsoper as Arturo in "I Puritani," and at The Royal Opera Covent Garden as Riccardo in Verdi's "Oberto." His New York recital debut was at The Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall and sponsored by The Opera Orchestra of New York.

The Luciano Pavarotti Award winner in 1992 studied privately with the legendary singer.

He is internationally recognized as the leading interpreter of the tenor role in Verdi's "Requiem" having performed the role more than 175 times.

"Love Vistas" offers Miami audiences the chance to hear the dynamic duet, each in their own right internationally acclaimed artists who have graced many of the great stages of the world from New York to Milan, in the intimate setting of the Coral Gables Museum. Daniel Daroca will accompany on piano.
